Pataakha

Pataakha

Paatakha as the name suggests, it’s a firecracker of entertainment in all true sense. This movie has taken a step ahead in sibling rivalry, will leave you wondering that, ”Behnein (sisters) aesi bhi hoti hain?”

This movie is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and it is based on Charan Singh Pathik’s short story titled “Do Behnein”. Set on India’s rich state Rajasthan there live two sisters with their father, who were furious and hateful towards each other and left no stone unturned to humiliate their father in front of the whole village. And, all these senseless sisterly fights that always turn out to be physical and dangerous is always instigated by their neighbor, played by Sunil Grover.  In all this chaos they married off and when separated the real drama of strange emotion developed between them.

Paatakha is a wave of fresh air in your daily routine and it will turn your weekend binge a great night to remember. Debutant Radhika Madan played “Badki” and Sanya Malhotra of Dangal fame played “Chutki”, both girls did full justice to their respective character and indulged each and every essence of a pure Rajashthani local, be it the accent, dress or body language.

I would rate this movie 8/10, Vishal Bhardwaj has again proved his directorial vision best.
