Meet The Pakistani Martha Stewart

Have you ever wished to pursue a career in arts and crafts? If I am not wrong that isn’t considered as a career in our society, right?

Let me introduce you to a young entrepreneur from SZABIST Karachi pursuing her undergraduate in Media Sciences. Noor, she founded Tastic & Co back in 2016 with a vision to turn it into a Pakistani Hallmark, the ultimate gift and stationery shop.

I had prepared a series of questions before visiting Noor but then when you`re meeting someone creative, a structured approach won’t serve the purpose so I had to go a bit orthodox and it worked.

We discussed what the venture is really about and for a layman like me, how can Tastic & Co add colors to my life?

Preparing gifts takes a lot of effort and that is something I had never felt, one of the reasons is opting to pay off and here we are done with the “Formality”.

Noor has a diversified portfolio including handcrafted and printed envelopes, invites, baskets, giveaways and much more.

First two years for Tastic & Co have been quite successful with recent partnerships with Sheops and Just4Girls along with getting featured on morning shows of country`s top media houses like Geo and Ary.

Upon checking out the portfolio, quality is something that has been consistently taken care off. For Noor, she had an opportunity to commercialize the venture focusing on making more and more products but that compromises quality and the personal touch she puts in her products.

We asked Noor whether she has any suggestion for people who want pursue a career in arts and crafts and her blunt reply was ” Be Original”, well being an entrepreneur my self I couldn’t agree more with how important it is to work with originality after all entrepreneurship is all about innovation and pursuing new ideas.

As a student, if you’re running something like Tastic & Co and on the other end, there is a degree to complete, your life is not simple as one may perceive it to be. For Noor, she doesn’t overthink about time management and how to complete orders on time which in turn increases one’s productivity and time management.

Eid is around the corner and one needs to get those envelopes ready to start sending out eidis to their loved ones.
